Mena (pronounced men-uh) is a ceramic artist working out of the San Francisco Bay Area. In a former life she was a software engineer, but a hand injury that made typing inadvisable forced her to reconsider her career. Crafts had been there since she was a child; knitting first, then sewing and quilting. But clay was the first medium that made her feel like an artist.
She makes mugs, plant pots, small sculptures, and more. Hand-built and wheel-thrown depending on what the piece is asking for. The first creature she made was a butter-yellow bowl ringed with teeth and upon its completion, something clicked and gave her direction. She hopes the work sparks joy in your life, but most importantly she needed to get the monsters out of her head.
Tell me about your monster and I'll write back with ideas, a price estimate, and a rough timeline. Commissions are accepted in small batches.
Bulletins from the studio — fresh specimens, market sightings, and creatures newly released into the world. Once a month or so.
